Subsonic Forum

Hey.. Im not sure if I need to email someone directly (like Sindre) .. but i've almost completed a completely native cascades application client for subsonic. Im going to be adding it to the Blackberry World .. I just dont know if I needed to get permission or anything.

The app itself is not feature complete. Its missing some things like Podcasts, scrobble to last.fm and maybe a couple others. However it plays video natively. allows searching, full playlist control, and traversing via folders, artists, albums and genre's.

I'm somewhat surprised no one has replied to this thread.

How is the app working? Are you using it on the Z10 or Q10? I ask because I'm considering going back to the physical keyboard world and getting a Q10.

Im developing on the Z10 but it works nicely on a Q10 simulator. I have some issues around video playback though I believe ive uncovered a bug in BlackBerry's MediaPlayer core object. Ive filed an issue but no response on it yet. Easily reproducable using their web-browser. In any case, im missing a few features around Podcasts, starring, comments, ..but Ive been trying to get playback smoothed out around video. Audio works perfectly. App is 1.9 (subsonic 4.7+) compatible for the most part.. i havent tried an older version of subsonic.

Video playback works beautifully on my local network at home.. use the hdmi port practically daily.. amazing playing a 1080p x264 video using the hdmi from your phone on a projector

I have a few more settings to implement.. im hoping to release to blackberry world in august sometime.

That's great! If I do pull the trigger on the Q10 it sounds like I'll be good to go.

I don't use subsonic for video, and I don't use podcasts. Just music and playlists

But in any case, i released the BlackBerry 10 app a few days ago, the Q10/5 support was added this morning.. the update should propagate by tomorrow.

I was hoping BB had their promo codes stuff available for vendors already so I could create some coupons... but doesnt look like thats happening for a couple months yet.
