After reading that the iSub creator is no longer updating or working on the app I wondered what the consensus was on other alternative apps?
Are people still sticking with iSub or now using other apps? I like the features with iSub such as last.fm scrobbling and the compatibility with MusicCabinet so unless another app can offer these I may stick with iSub for a while yet.

Pretty sure iSub is still #1 for iOS. Unfortunately...

I have tried SubHub & Audiophone, unfortunately neither even come close to the functionally of iSub. iSub is still going strong for me so that's what i'm still using.

Does anyone get ISUB working on IOS beta 4 ??

Worked for me until beta 3, crashes on beta 4 (iphone 4s). I bought audiophone as a second client. I'm sure we'll see it improve over time, feature wise. And maybe someone picks up developing iSub...

I've tried compiling the source from Github to fix the startup check http://isubapp.com/update.xml but it looks like there are some sub-modules missing from the source so I can't get it to compile

Well, the source code on github is somewhat updated for iOS8, but after cloning it to desktop I can't get it to compile successfully (...unused variable...).

Maybe someone with more experience can take a look at it?

You have to download EX2kit (in einstein git)

But I'm unable to understand how to put it to compile

The good thing is, if you don't download the zip but clone the git to desktop all deltas will be resolved and the dependencies will download, too. So all other Frameworks are in place:

Well, this happens too if I open the libSUB project on its own and try to compile only that.

To be honest, I have zero experience with this, I'm just trying. So if somebody knows what needs to be done...?

The source code appear to be uncompilable

We should really form a community to make this app brand new ... Especially the EX2kit
