I hate when I am jamming down the road in my zone with my tunez and the phone rings or some alert comes through, pauses my song, makes noises overall interrupting my jam session. It would be nice to have the ability to choose to allow certain alerts, messaging and phone calls and to deny some or all of them ...

Thats a feature of your phone OS, not subsonic. For Android look at the Android DND functions.

I know of this, but for the sake of ease, it can be incorporated into the app to have the DND features you wish just simply opening the app. Makes life easier and avoid the possibility of forgetting turning it back on after the app is closed ..
