Official Subsonic Android app and "Microphone"

The Android app is asking for or using "Microphone" permission. I'm not sure it needs to do that. Without voice recognition, I can't think of any reason why it should need that.

So I am getting a lot of system warnings on my Samsung S9 phone that Subsonic is accessing the Microphone in the background, and I am not even using the app! This has me concerned!! What exactly is occurring here?
