Is DSub the only third-party app that supports Android Auto?

It hasn't been updated in a long time.

Is there an alternative?

I think Madsonic does (if you want to get into that mess). However, DSUB still works fine (there hasn't been any significant updates to Subsonic either). It is the one I use every day. I still recommend it.

It hasn't been updated much because it just works. My only hassle is that I have to leave Android Auto if I need to change servers but that's a rare use-case (I run a separate server for my classical and soundtrack collection from the rock stuff).

But otherwise, every feature that's supported is working. The server hasn't changed much so there's nothing it hasn't caught up to. I know it is missing Artist-Album ID3 browsing, but very few clients bother with that in the first place.

So, well, what needs to be changed?

I just released GoSONIC, an all new Subsonic Client in the Google Play Store that supports Android Auto.

If you are interested, please check it out at :
