Hello all,

I've been racking my brain trying to get this to work. Using latest version of subsonic, subair, adobe air and flash.

I am able to play mp3 files in subair, but when I attempt to play m4as, the total time and song/album info pop up, sit there for a bit, with no time elapsing on the clock and after about 6 or 7 seconds, the song goes away and I am not able to play any music after, mp3 or otherwise.

The od thing is I am able to download the m4a as an mp3 version, which plays fine.

I uninstalled Air and subair, reinstalled, still no dice. I enabled m4a to mp3 and aac to mp3 and also enabled them in the player section and it still does not work.

I also went as far as to install xcode and macport on my main system which hosts subsonic. That didn't seem to help either.

Any suggestions?

this is a dated thread, but just in case anyone else runs into this issue...

I ran into this same issue with aacs, and did the following:

the transcoding settings need to be checked in two places...

1. subsonic > settings > transcoding

- enable 'aac > mp3'
- transcoding settings for aac > mp3 are as follows
step 1 > ffmpeg -i %s -v 0 -f wav -
step 2 > lame -b %b --tt %t --ta %a --tl %l -S --resample 44.1 - -


2. subsonic > settings > player
- select your player (subAir[username])
- scroll down to 'Active transcodings' and ensure that 'aac > mp3' is checked

I haven't tested with m4a, but it should work them as well.
