Hello everyone,

My name is Christian and I am the lead developer for Maplegrove Partners, LLC. We will be developing an add-in for Windows Home Server V1 and V2 to seamlessly integrate Subsonic into Windows Home Server and its client boxes. This thread is being created as a placeholder until more information is available.

@TheWiz

Look forward to it! Though, I have a Subsonic server already running on my WHS v1. What do you guys expect your add-in to do that I am currently missing out on?

I have mine running on WHSv1, and am in the process of migrating it to a WHS 2011 box. I'd like to see what the add-in will offer as well. Depending on feature list and cost, I might be interested.

but the install process is soo simple (thanks sindre)

Installation may be simple, but integrating it with the "homeserver.com" domain that you get for free may not be as simple.

WHSv1, you can use Jakarta to make it seemless, but WHS2011 or SBSe2011, you need to use the url rewriter to do it. And I suspect that this is part of the point for making the add-in for both versions of WHS.

But honestly, the ease of which getting java, and TomCat installed on WHS is very simple. And configuring Jakarta and URL rewriting is simple enough, especially with all the tutorials over at IIS.net.

Hey guys,

Right now some of the major features we are working on is indeed .homeserver.com integration, as well as client players for each system connected to WHS that has a Subsonic app on each PC that can communicate with the Console to manage playlists and stream media directly from the launchpad etc, as well as manage Subsonic from the WHS Console so smaller changes don't rqire RDP access.

Because its very early in development, feature requests are welcome.

Thanks,
Christian

By integration with homeserver.com I hope you mean integration for the Remote Web Access for my users. I would love (and pay for) a unified way for my users to be able to log in at xxxx.homeserver.com, click on a "Subsonic" panel next to the folder shares etc and then be able to use Subsonic from there. Would also be great if there was integration for users and tweaking their access to certain media from the WHS Dashboard.

Very excited about these possibilities!

Any new news on this project, I am excited about this and would be willing to pay a few bucks for it.

For the kids, who love Subsonic, I created a simple shortcut to subsonic running on the WHS v1 box. The icon is the subsonic icon, and the browser window it opens is simply a new firefox window with all buttons hidden. So you get subsonic as if it is an application. Simple and looks great.

Been using subsonic on my WHS v1, I have about 8 users, streaming nothing but Video. I have my homeserver.com URL forwarded to subsonic with no problems.

So, is this dead in the water? There's no information on the website, and there hasn't been a post here in several months. :(
