How can I change the Subsonic UI

I would like to create a playlist manager in the subsonic UI. How can I go about doing that?


Ideally I would like another another menu item called 'Playlists' or rename and re-purpose 'Playing' since it's the same as 'Home' .

I'm planning on using javascript and leverage the REST api calls to do the rest of it.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm not a Java programmer really - so I'm not of much use. But I was curious, why are you making a playlist manager when Subsonic already kind of has one? Are you looking to improve its functionality in some way? (I've been wanting to see user-specific playlists for a long time).
