not adding folder

Postby ferraritmnt » Wed Oct 27, 2010 2:28 pm

I just downloaded Subsonic to my Windows Server 2008 R2 computer and was setting it up. It won't add my "Downloads" folder which is where I keep all of my music. I can add the "Music" folder, but it only has the sample music in it. The Downloads folder has a lot of non-music files in it, is this a problem?

Subsonic doesn't see files on the root of the added folder. So it is adding your "Downloads" folder but it expects that there is going to be more folders below it. Try adding a test folder inside your Downloads folder and then refresh your library. You should see the new folder on the left panel.

You can either create a folder inside your downloads folder and move your music into it, or you can add the folder above your downloads folder. Hopefully that makes sense.

Gotcha. At least you don't have to worry about rearranging your music library then :D

try this. go to C:\subsonic and move subsonic10.index to the recycle bin. then manually update the search index under Settings>Search. Depending on the size of your music collection this might take quite a while. When it is done indexing report back with the results.

well I figured out the problem, I had started the program on one computer and then tried to move to another not realizing that the directories were pointing at the other computer. now my problem is that i can not get the first one to recognize folders on another computer on my network and my second computer keeps getting a connection timeout when trying to set up the xxxx.subsonic.org address
