Streaming Video Divx

Postby mayrken » Sat Oct 30, 2010 10:16 am

Hi,

Operating System: Windows

Can you please give me a step by step for Streaming Videos. I will be only streaming Divx Files.

I might do other formats later on.

I also want to Embed the Divx Player.

Thanks,
Kenneth

Thanks for the Response!

I do not need to transcode at all. I will not be transcoding. It will stay in the Divx Format.

You stated you setup Video Streaming in Subsonic so can you tell me how? I dont have a problem using a External Player however I do know how to Embed Divx with HTML Code.

You don't need to embed the player. Create a player for your username by going to Settings, Players, then selecting any player in the list that is associated with your username. Click on "Clone Player", then click on the pick list to select the cloned player. Now Select the "External Player with playlist" radio button. Scroll down to the player name box and enter a name, perhaps Divx Player, I named mine "External". Scroll all the way to the bottom of the frame and click the save button.

Now when you select the External player, it will send the selected media in the playlist to the default player defined.

If you run into problems, be sure to load the latest Klite codec onto your desktop. So far it has solved most of the issues I was having for palying video in Subsonic as the Jw Player still has some coinsistency issues. To get video to run in JW, I sometimes have to switch players a few times to get the video to run.

Right now I'm using the Windows Classic Media Player that comes with the Klite Codec pack. Seek and skip track are both working. Not a bad setup at all.

Just be sure to let buffering complete before you try the seek bar.
