Network error

Postby eb22590 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 11:03 pm

I'm having issues with Subsonic on my Droid Incredible. Everything installs fine on both my PC and my phone. When I enter the settings on Subsonic on the phone, I receive a message that says "a network error occurred. Connection Failure." I've changed the port number for port forwarding successfully but that didn't make a difference. Any idea what the problem is?

Are you using the 3G on your phone or WiFi? If you're using 3G, then it's possible that you aren't able to connect because your router firewall isn't configured to allow the connection.

Have you tried connecting to Subsonic from a computer outside your network?

If you want to check if the port is forwarded, you can use this tool. Just change the port number to the port Subsonic is running on.
www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

If it's not open, you'll have to find out how to forward it. If you have no idea where to begin, start by replying and giving us your router's model number. Maybe someone here will be able to assist you. If you have some idea what you're doing but need a guide, go to Port Forward.com and look up your router.

Cheers,

I have the same problem. The tool says, that the port I configured is closed on my subsonic domain and on my ip address.
In the network configuration I get the status "Successfully forwarding port 2342". Do I understand this wrong or is this a bug?
There is another hint, that the port ist closed for the outside world. My subsonic domain could be registered, but there is a ConnectionTimeoutException.
Looks like I have to take a look into the manual of my router... :(

It's working now. I'm sitting here on my desk infront of my computer with the head phones plugged into my andoid phone, wireless turned of, listening to music over 3G :)
The status for my subsonic domain is now "markokitzing.subsonic.org responded successfully".
