I admit, you've got me baffled at this point. If the WMV's play in other players, they should play in JW.

Wait one!

Try this:

I chnged mine back to the original settings and they work fine, do a cut & paste just to avoid any errors.

ffmpeg -ss %o -i %s -async 1 -b %bk -s %wx%h -ar 44100 -ac 2 -v 0 -f flv -

If that doesn't work you may have deeper installation issues. Stozher is the pro at transcoding, you might send him a pm and ask him his opinion. Be sure to include a link to the thread for him so he can see what we've already done.

I also just tested a WMV in a player defined as an external player and it played the WMV in JW.

Try unchecking the transcoding and testing with a player defined as "External with playlist" If it works you'll have the best setup possible.

CONFIRMED: Jw plays wmv in native format! I tested both ways and could see the cpu performance drop when not transcoding.

Also, can you do a stop/start on the server?

Sorry we couldn't get it. There must be something else wrong as I'm playing WMV just fine. I always suggest an uninstall/reinstall of Java and SS when all else fails. It's not too painful and it sometimes fixes the problem.

Good luck.

I still suffer from this, since the beginning. If I straight pass through mkv and other video formats, the url isnt passed on to either JW player or an external player. I either watch vids transcoded or not at all. A bummer since i use a all LAN setup and wouldnt like my server to have to transcode anything.

What version of debian are you running? I run squeeze with the special media repository. Maybe you run wheezy to solve it?

Videos must be in mp4 or flv format to be played directly by JW Player. Be sure to deselect the transcoding option for mp4 to get it to pass to JW.
