Bug- subsonic server can not see special characters

Postby teknojnky » Thu Feb 03, 2011 6:35 am

Subsonic server does not see or recognize paths with special characters, I'm not sure if this is a linux specific problem or not.

examples:

1998 - F♯ A♯ ∞
1999 - Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada

Album Folders do not show up in the browse list, nor search results.

Version 4.3 (build 2078) – January 7, 2011
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_20, Linux (213.8 MB / 581.1 MB)
Max Memory = 1000

hardware: readynas ultra4

how they show up in ssh

Code: Select all
ls -l /media/music/G/Godspeed\ You\!\ Black\ Emperor/
total 36
drwxrwxrwx 2 tekno users 4096 2010-11-17 00:48 1998 - F⯠A⯠â
drwxrwxrwx 2 tekno users 4096 2010-11-17 00:48 1999 - Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada

how they show up in windows cmd across the network

Code: Select all
Directory of M:\music\G\Godspeed You! Black Emperor

11/17/2010  12:48 AM    <DIR>          1998 - F? A? ∞
11/17/2010  12:48 AM    <DIR>          1999 - Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada
08/24/2010  06:39 PM    <DIR>          1997 - F? A? ∞ (1995-1997)

how they show up in windows explorer across the network

Files are perfectly accessible and playable across the network via cifs/smb.

wiki pages for the specific albums

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%E2%99%AF ... _%E2%88%9E
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_Riot_ ... %B8_Kanada

and yes, I realize the obvious work-around would be to rename them to standard characters, however that does not solve the problem.
