Error playing "SONG TITLE"

Postby steveliv » Sat Mar 19, 2011 12:46 am

Prepare failed.: status=0x1 (IOException)

I'm getting a lot on conflicting posts about this error. Has it been determined to be an issue with the software or with the settings on the server/player?

I am using Subsonic server running on Windows 7, and the error is occuring on the Android client.

Yes, sorry about that, I edited the first post. I've gotten flustered installing/unintalling, removing folders, re saving tags, etc, trying to find out why this error is occurring.

As always, first determine if it's the phone or the server. Does the phone work OK on other sites?

I can listen to the songs fine using the browser, but using the android client causes the error on some songs.

Other people have posted about this error, so it can't be just me.

I also get the error on my xoom tablet as well.

I get this error also. It always comes on songs that were ripped from vinyl to mp3. Something is interfering with my downsampling command. When I check the logs I see this:

Code: Select all
TranscodeInputStream   Starting transcoder: [c:\subsonic\transcode\lame] [-S] [-h] [--resample] [44.1] [-b] [96] [--tt] [Home (demo)] [--ta] [Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros] [--tl] [Simplest Love 7"] [e:\Songs\E\Edward Sharpe\Simplest Love 7 inch\Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros - Simplest Love 7 inch - 03 - Home (demo).mp3] [-]
[3/22/11 3:50:30 PM CDT]   DEBUG   InputStreamReaderThread   (c:\subsonic\transcode\lame) c:\subsonic\transcode\lame: excess arg 7

I haven't looked into it yet because it happens while trying to listen a few select EPs and because I don't currently have the time to dive into this.

Unlike the OP however, I am unable to play the songs through the web or through the Android client.

I just tested and this error also seems to crop up when i try to play a song whose bitrate is higher than my mobile cap.
