Android App: plays file after SD mount

Postby sophos7 » Tue Apr 12, 2011 11:09 pm

This has been happening for a while now, atleast the last 2 versions of the Android App.

Problem Description: With Subsonic App running in background, focused, or closed, If you mount the phone as a Disk Drive to a computer then when finished and disconnect the SD card will mount on the phone. After this happens Subsonic will start playing the file that was last opened.

Troubleshooting Steps: Installing new versions of App and restarting phone.

Playback Application and version: Android App Version 2.7
Phone and OS: HTC EVO 4G Android 2.2 Stock ROM

Server Version: 4.2 (build 1944)

Any ideas?

I just tested on my EVO, stock, whatever latest OTA version is...

Opened Subsonic, paused playback, cradled phone, selected Disk Drive, browsed files, closed explorer, removed phone. Waited several minutes, then opened SS and closed the app.

What did I miss?

Connecting to disk does seem to screw up the weather widget.

This happens for me too, although it is very random. Using a Droid X. After connecting to a PC, transferring some stuff, then unplugging it, I get a message that Subsonic can't play the file and it throws an error. Like I said, it is very random and doesn't happen all the time.

The only suggestions that I can think of that might help:

Uninstall/reboot/reinstall SS on the phone.

make sure you have the latest HTC Sync application.

My phone has never done this, but I don't connect in Disk Drive mode that often. Maybe dumping the phone logs right after it happens would shed some light on what's happening.

I will uninstall and reinstall.

After reading the comments here I connected to my computer as diskdrive and did notice that I get an Error Playing "filename" MediaPlayer error: 100 (0) (Exception).

So it seems like once I choose the disk drive it is trying to play the last file I was listening to but can't because the SD card is not mounted. Then when I disconnect from PC and mount the SD on the phone again, it starts playing.

I'll report back after the uninstall.

I seem to have found the cause of my issue. It was having USB in debug mode.

I did try turning Debug mode off before and it still happened. I uninstalled the app and turned off Debug mode. Then I installed the App and configured. I tested and the problem was gone. I turned debug mode back on and I had the problem again. This time though it was consistently linked to having debug mode on/off.

I use the debug mode from time to time for PDAnet. As someone else said, this isn't a BIG deal, but if there were a simple fix, it would be nice to have resolved.

Same problem, but without debug mode

Postby Morkeleb » Mon Apr 18, 2011 6:45 pm

Hi.

I have that problem too, however both in debug mode and also without it.

After the stopping providing the sd-card over usb the next track in the playlist is played.

Also - and this is even more annoying - as soon as I start to provide the sd-card over usb and it is no longer accessible to applications, and error appears in the slide-down menu:

Error playing "<track title>"
MediaPlayer error: 100 (0) (Exception)

When clicking on it the same error is displayed again with an ok button, the error remains in the slide-down list even after clicking ok.
The only way I found to remove it is to restart the phone!

I have an LG Optimus Speed.

I also have other issues, please see here for the full list:

Please fix this!
