Very happy to have finally "gotten" Subsonic.
As a Mac user, iTunes was okay, but couldn't handle FLAC without a major hassle. Songbird could handle FLAC, but just wasn't as polished as iTunes.
I discovered Subsonic when I searched for a FLAC-capable player in the Android Market. Didn't use it at first because I was just looking for a FLAC player. Now that I have attained enlightenment

, I see that Subsonic is awesome.
Brilliant to have it transcode FLAC-to-MP3 on the fly and save the MP3 file to my Android phone so that any other music app can access it. Awesome to be able to access my music library when I'm away from my computer and let others do the same. The tagging is not as convenient as other media managers, but at least I know I won't break my database if I tag the music files outside the media manager. You do have to put some work in to get set up, but it is absolutely worth it in the end. Subsonic is a fantastic piece of work.
Very happy with Subsonic, and very happy with Sindre's work!
