How can one play .tivo files on subsonic

I have files on my computer that have been downloaded from my Tivo recorder.
I can play these file using Windows Media player as .tivo files. I have indicated that .tivo files are video files to subsonic, I can see them, but they do not play.

I can convert tivo files to mpeg, but I don't want to duplicate my collection.
Anyone know how to get subsonic to play the .tivo files?
