Just to use the web player you can use it continuously, but to use the API you will have to "donate". (E.G. for mobile devices, support only lasts 30 days).

The only thing you pay for after 30 days is to get/keep a <name>.subsonic.org address which is not needed to use subsonic; it just makes accessing it a little easier.

Without the redirect (the <name>.subsonic.org address) you can still access your server using your IP address. If you're on the same network, it would look something like "http://192.168.1.101/index.view" (the internal IP address of the computer running Subsonic) depending on what type of router you use. If you're outside of your network, it would use your external IP address as look something like "http://71.71.245.167/index.view" (that's not my address).

I suggest donating but that's just me. Subsonic is pretty awesome and if you keep using it, it would be nice to throw Sindre (the lone creator) a few bucks.

Thanx for the help :) and yes i will donate infact... just have to save up the money first (takes a bit of time when on pension, but can be done though).

Got it solved by a nice person that helped me with donation, so it all runs big time now.

Just to be clear, the other thing you lose after 30 days (besides the use of CustomName.subsonic.org) is the REST API which ALL non-native apps (iPhone, Android, C#, AubAir, etc...) rely on.

So you will ONLY have access to the web interface after 30 days.

Never knew that. I guess it doesn't matter for me but it's good to know. Thanks.
