Subsonic 4.6 released

Subsonic 4.6 was released today, 6 December 2011. A new version of the Android app will follow shortly.

I tried playing a video to see if I could reproduce the video transcoding issues I was having before but it seems to be OK now (I tested it on my local network not over the internet though)

Also, I manually upgraded JWplayer by replacing the version in the subsonic installation folder with with 5.8 since it was still using 5.6

Hey,

I just updated as well but ran to a minor problem.

At the end of running the installer the Subsonic service under Windows 7 did not start. I looked under 'Services' and it was marked as 'disabled'. When I attempted to enable it, it gave an error saying "Service marked for deletion."

I rebooted the computer and the service was removed. I then re-ran the installation file and everything went back to normal.

Just a glitch it seems, but worth noting I thought.

OK - Maybe it's me ... Why do wtv files work in 4.6 beta2 but don't work in the 4.6 release? It appears that wtv files are no longer recognized as video files.

I too had to reboot to get the Subsonic service to run on my Win 2008 R2 server.

EDIT: Go figure, added the wtv extension and the transcode back and they are now working. Delayed reaction I guess. I originally added the wtv extension to the video transcode line, but then added it's own definition. My mp4 videos didn't transcode, so I just took the mp4 extension out so they would play direct to JW Player.

Went back and removed seperate line and readded wtv to the flv/h264 video line and now it works.

I have just updated it on my server running Win7, and I did not had to reboot it like previous guys. But I have stopped Subsonic service before starting the installation, so that's probably why...

Nevertheless, I love new Jukebox implementation has it seems to have fixed all playback problems that I had with some musics ! I have just noticed a short glitch sound from time to time at the beginning of each songs in jukebox mode, but hopefully you will find something for this in next release, and it's not so bad...

i'v just installed subsonic 4.6 and i have a problem with iSub since the installation.

when i play a song, the song can stop 20 seconds before the end and go to the next song. this time is variable, it can 5s 10s 20s or much.... so its a bit annoying...

i haven't the problem with 4.5 .... i see in the change log you have made a fix about content length... perhaps it's linked to this update?

Also having a problem with iPhone apps and 4.6 final. Neither iSub or Z-Subsonic would connect, but I was able to access the server through Firefox.
After reinstalling 4.6 Beta 2, access to iSub and Z-Subsonic were restored.

Subsonic 4.6 standalone
Have issue with no media folders found.
I have input the correct folder info into the media folder section
it shows the field filled in and saves it
but still produces the error no media folders found as well as not populating the left side menu with the music.
I have also input the Playlist folder info and subsonic is able to see the playlists no problem.

Subsonic standalone is unable to see the media folder at all.
all files have the same user permissions as when I ran 4.4
When loading a playlist..in subsonic about, it lists this error "WARN PlaylistService Access denied to file /mnt/.......etc etc etc"
