Can this be becasue of the missing transcoder?

Hi Jan,
Yes the slow playback is because of the missing transcoder, you should be able to add the Transcoder setting into the WebUI and it should work instantly, no need to reload just start the song again.

Thank you for the answer.

I did first not see the settings for the transcoding, but i was not logged in as admin...

Added the transcoding, and the slow music is at normal speed again.

What a nice app!

I have to say, now that HTTPS is working, I am really happy that I have a lightweight tool to use subsonic. I used to use SubAir but ever since I enabled SSL, it stops at every song wanting to accept the invalid cert. I know why it was doing it, just didn't want to buy a cert. This app is incredible and has lots of eyecandy as well!
Great job!

Hi Aithies,
Thankyou for testing the change, I had a small test https system setup but wasn't sure as my personal system isn't https so couldn't test it fully.
Thanks for the praise, I am glad you like it!

Here is something else. I made NO changes to my transcoding and have yet to have any issues. I am using the default transcoding line that came with Subsonic.

Hi,
I'm glad to hear it works for you as-is :D unfortunately sometimes random issues can occur and eventually I found the transcoder fixed these problems.
The transcoder that I suggest using is just a safety net which explicitly encodes all files to mp3 (when used along with the other encoders) even if they are already mp3.

You may NOT need the extra transcoder if:
- all your music is NOT mp3 (this means that all the music will be transcoded by the default setup)
- all of the music which IS mp3 is encoded at a HIGHER bitrate than the users max bitrate (this means that it has to transcode the mp3 to lower bitrate mp3)

You may need the extra transcoder if:
- any of the mp3 files on your subsonic have vbr bitrate (this can cause an issue of slow/fast playback)
- the audio file is not transcoded into an mp3
- the mp3 file has tag, bitrate issues; some files just won't play straight from the stream

Its good that you aren't having problems but hopefully this helps explain to people who wonder why I suggest using the setup, it's more a just in case scenario :D

Cheers

Hi,

I like that you changed the icon , that's a nice one. I like also the popup that appears when adding something to the playlist. I see a little bug about that, if I double click on a song for preview the popup appears but if I click on the PLAY button it looks like the popup didn't show up.

Regarding the Artists panel, that's a good job ... it looks very nice. there is no problem by the way so if I have to say something it's about some enhancements. I let you check them and tell me if this is something realistic.

--> What if the Alphabet remains the in same shape independantly that there is no artists within some letters. I mean the left pannel always show alphabet from A to Z, then you play on the colors. For example the letters without artists may be set as grey (like if they are disabled), the one with artists in white (of course black background with white letters) and the one selected can be set as blue (like the color change of the button play/pause when you move to them).

--> I see that the list displayed on the right when entering in the artist tab is always the full list, why not adding at the begining of the Alphabet a same shape with "ALL' caption that may be selected by default 'in blue so).

--> Related to the previous enhancement, why not filtering the list on the right instead of simply making a redirect to the index letter. I mean that if I click on letter A, then on the right the list will only show artists name starting with letter A.

And finally a big thanks for the button CLEAR PLAYLIST it's exactly what i was thinking. I see just a little thing there, when I click CLEAR the playlist is cleared, the music stops but the text "Artist + Song" remains in the player like if it was still running.

I'll continue to test it and let you know but You already did a really good work with that app. It should goes to the Homepage of the project quickly as it's a great program.

Cheers.

Hi Waro,
Firstly thanks for the testing and responses...

Yes this seems to be that it isn't closing the popup properly and re-opening the new popup with the new preview details in, I have noted this and will look into it.

I have added this for consideration into the changes, the Artist Cloud is still being coded.

Great I have added to the list to code it so that when the song is cleared so is the player text.

Thanks!

Also did you notice the addition of the Music Folders (in your case the Genres?), do these work as expected?

Cheers

Hi All,
Just to let you know I have just pushed a change which allows SubWiji to be docked to the bottom of the screen :)
You can select this in the settings screen.

Thanks

Great I have added to the list to code it so that when the song is cleared so is the player text.

I have just published a fix which now clears the song text and song timer when clearing the playlist :)

Paul,

The dropdown list to select by genre works very well. I hope it works well too for the ones that do not have the same organisation of folders ...

Popups are well displayed now.

The attach to bottom is exactly what i was looking for.... It's perfect. I just see something strange, when docked to bottom, if I click on the subwiji button, and select one of the 3 icons it looks likes they are reverted in the wrong side. Try it you'll see ...

Another one about the docked to bottom option. If i quit and restart the bar is really close to the windows bar, but if I open the option panel and save (without changing anything) then the bar move a little bit to the top, it's about 2 or 3 pixels.

finally,I 'found something on the mixer panel, why did all the tabs have a Refresh icon ? Some of them have no use of refresh (not sure about this one, i'm maybe wrong). You should consider moving the refresh icon on top of the mixer window instead of within all the tabs. It can give you the space to add icons for every specific tabs.

I will continue to test.

Bye

... One another stuff, You should consider replacing the mixer icon with one that can be easier to understand. Why not a big PLUS [+] that can easilly been interpretated as the fastest way to ADD songs.

That's just an idea. I let you see ...

Well, this sucks! Since you host that file at dropbox, now my work blocks that site as a online file storage. I can no longer update. If you have the whole app in one package, that would be awesome, since I can tunnel out, but the installer doesn't.

Thanks!
