The problem with int. characters is an OS specific problem and as you haven't told us what you are running SS on we cannot really help.
If you do a search of the forum you will find a number of posts that deal with this issue.
There is no problem with SS [4.6] regarding International (utf8) characters using windows (well not on my setup  )

Ok can you explain what you mean by non-latin characters :?
I assumed that you meant characters with accents éïóâ etc

Post some of the characters on the board (which is using utf8) and I will test.
Do they display correctly via windows explorer?

Code: Select all
אבגדה

Using those characters as a template I renamed an mp3 with that name, in a directory with that name and also changed the IDtag title and artist fields to suit.
SS displayed the track (and folder) and played the track np :?
However it really messed up my lastfm scrobble

Update SS to 4.6 final
There was a problem with m3u playlists and utf characters in earlier versions.
If that doesn't work try saving playlists in xspf format which I know worked ok with international characters.

Save playlist - select xspf in drop down box.

You omitted to say that you are using an external player :?
Those instructions are for using the standard web player.
However both MM and Winamp play m3u files np with Int. characters providing you use external with playlist.
(I have problems getting the external player (no playlist) to work at all :| )
