Remote Player Options

I have been trying to find out if there is a way to control player. I have a subsonic server and several devices that I use to play back music. In this case, I have a mini-mac connected to my receiver in one room and would like to be able to use my ipad to search and queue songs but play it through the mini-mac. Is this possible?
