Subsonic 4.7.beta2 released

Dear friends!

The first public beta release of Subsonic 4.7 is now released.

This is probably the most extensive update of Subsonic ever so I'm grateful for all feedback, be it positive or negative.

Just updated from 4.6 to this to get Remote Control functionality working. Win7 x64 system. I'm not finding any playlist directory field in the settings pages and in the web player More actions pull down menu there is no playlist Load option listed anymore. I do see the create new playlist and import playlist options in the media directory on the left side of the web page but I have hundreds of playlists and an extensive music collection. Loading these one by one isn't an option.
Sorry if I'm overlooking something obvious, I hope I am.

The media is on a network share and is indexed fine with a few file name problems here and there. I didn't have to relist the media location in settings but it appears that the playlist settings have changed and weren't carried over. I didn't see any Playlist service in the services. The Subsonic service was updated with the correct logon credentials.
After going back to 4.6 I see the Playlist section of Settings->General is now gone.


Are there other betas I can use that have Remote Control and playlists working? Thanks.

I can't seem to change themes now. Any selection I choose the theme I had before the update stays. ):

Just about any of them. i believe it's because there is no Artist tag entry for video, so SS just puts "null" up in the "Now playing" section.

install was fine...scanned media folders quickly. if i change theme the change 'sticks'. connection via the android app is working as it should.
couple of issues...
a lot of album art that i know has been downloaded now doesn't show.
video playback is really jerky and slow (don't watch much video though...).
that's about it...quite happily using it.

"20120610_nullVideo - The artist is "null" for videos in right.jsp. Probably because videos don't have proper tags."

Video performance could be impacted if the scan hasn't completed yet. Also, different versions of ffmpeg sometimes work better with video. Search "Videoffmpeg" to get some ideas on how you might improve video if you want to try to get better results.

BKKK has finally upgraded
12 hours to scan media files
Initial observations:

1. All artists seem to be displayed correctly in left frame
2. The date order is being sorted but in descending order eg latest album 1st
   This possibly needs to be user configurable.
3. Double CD's break the date order as SS is not recursively scanning further down the directory - so doesn't find date tag.
   eg album/CD#/tracks does not display year
4. Cannot get import playlist to work - no error being shown but no playlist either
   These are 4.6 playlists so should work
5. I was going to report that the top rated function was broken but after 5 mins of spinning circle waiting they did finally appear
   However requesting the same info again results in the same wait time so it appears that SS is searching each time

Lots of other things to check so better to get on

The import play lists can be a little tricky. Be sure you do it on the local host so that SS can see the local directory on the host machine when you hit the browse button. Unfortunately, each list must be imported individually. A batch import feature is going to be a must for anyone with a large number of playlists.

I can't see any Album art in the Home/Random window in IE 8 on WHS v1. No error, no place holder icon, just blank with the titles showing in their normal positions, but nothing can be selected.

Same site works fine in IE 9 and Chrome.

Could be a bummer for XP users - if there are any left out there ...
