Not a fix, but a workaround...

I set up a pptp vpn on my router.
Android has built in vpn capability, so I just vpn into my home network and connect "locally" to the server. This works even on 3g.

Not ideal, but at least I get to use the server.

Edit: sgs 2 using ICS

Have you tested the Dsub app on the demo server?

What king of phone?

It's a Galaxy Note running CM9.

I tried this in the wee hours of the night so I don't recall if I tried the demo server.

I thought the issue was related to my .no-ip.org domain having the hyphen in the URL but I even tried my .subsonic.org hostname without any success.

If you're inside your network on wifi, try the local address, ie. 192.168.1.xxx:4040.

Like the original problem states, it works over WiFi but not over the cellular data network.

Then test to see if your phone works on the demo server and check to see if the port to your host is open at http://canyouseeme.org

I apologize for not remembering every detail of every post that I answer. especially on the ones where 2 or three users may be chiming in on the same issue and only give feedback on an avg. of once per week.

Good luck with your issue, I won't bother you with any further suggestions.

No need. Seems like this issue was fixed with the latest release on the Google Play Store.

Code: Select all
What's New
What's in this version:
o Fix "Host name cannot be null" error on ICS.
o Support Bluetooth play/pause buttons on ICS.
o Improve caching of artist list.
o Ensure readable text in notification when background is dark.
o Fix crash when using fast scrolling.
o Enable fast scrolling of playlists, search results and songs.

Thanks anyways!

It would be great if someone could confirm that this error is really fixed in version 3.4 of the Android app.

Thanks!
