Videos in subfolders don't show up in UI

Postby tomf84 » Tue Oct 16, 2012 9:37 pm

I have just discovered that Subsonic now has video support, so I'm trying to set it up.

I have added a new folder under Settings -> Media Folders, and the new folder shows up in the drop down list on the left.

I organise my TV shows in folders-per-show, then subfolders per series. I have a few odd videos in the root of the folder I added above.

None of the videos in folders show up in Subsonic at all. The few videos in the root show up fine.

Is this by design? If not, how can I fix it?

Thanks
Tom

Rescan your media library...

This is the first thing I tried. Two rescans, no result.

Folders appear in the left pane, just no files in the right pane.

The default Subsonic 4.7 media scanner seems to sometimes miss newly added items. Maybe this is another such case? I haven't dived into exactly why though, as I'm not using it.

The only "solution" I've seen posted is to move files and folders around, force a full new scan etc.

There's not (that I'm aware of at least) a bug tracker available where bugs are officially confirmed by the author of Subsonic, so it's just rumors on the forum...

Did you add the video file types to the "Video Files" setting on the general setting tab so that Subsonic knows what you think a Video file is?

My setting is:
Code: Select all
flv avi mpg mpeg mp4 m4v mkv mov wmv ogv divx m2ts
