How can I set up my Media folder

I have most of my music in Itunes as well as a few folders on my desktop. I am running Subsonic on my macbook. Everytime I go to settings, it asks me to manually enter the location of my music. I'm not the smartest guy, but this is beyond me. Audiogalaxy used to just scan my computer for all media files and would organize them. No matter what I input as the location, I get the message, "folder not found". I basically want all of the music on my computer, known and unknown to be available on subsonic. This is supposed to be better than Audiogalaxy, yet I can't even link a single song. What do I do???

Have you tried using symbolic links to your various folders?
