I just grabbed a logcat, (http://pastebin.com/J0rtYQPF -- my apologies if it's a total mess, I don't know how to restrict it to just what's relevant), but I think I can tell you exactly what the problem is just from looking at it (though maybe not the source of said problem)... here's the line (apologies for formatting typos, I'm just copying it by sight):

E/av (20126): File /storage/extSdCard/subsonic/music/Bon Iver/2009 - Blood Bank/01-01-Blood Bank.partial.mp3 does not exist

the .partial.mp3 does not exist, in this case, because it's just .mp3 (it's a pinned track). I assume a similar thing is happening with .partial/.complete with other tracks. The tracks are fine, and will play in other players.

Let me know if I can test some other cases to drill down to where the issue is.

I'm running a Samsung GNote II on Sprint, rooted with synergy rom r105. Manually changed it to store tracks on the external SD Card.

I love the app. Thanks. Also, I don't see a donate version -- Is there a place where we can throw you a few sheqels?

Thanks for the bug report, I appreciate it. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is, any chance you're using the ID3 tag option? I fixed some issues with that in 1.2.0.6 which I released yesterday. If not, I'll see what I can do, but I am unable to reproduce these issues on any of my devices...

1) Load large playlist (mine's >400 tracks)
2) Rotate device to 90 or 270deg
3) Tap button to hide cover art / show track list
4) Play a track
5) Wait and watch

After about a minute you'll start seeing the progress meter lagging. Rather than counting by seconds, it'll count every other second, then every 5, then every 10, etc. The entire UI will follow suit, making is nearly impossible to control the app. Tapping the menu button then Screen On, for instance, can take 10-12 seconds to complete. The device's Back and Home buttons are also effected. Basically, Ultrasonic takes the whole device to its knees.

- Returning to album art resets the UI to normal, but the leak will start again when exposing the track list.
- Does not seem to repro in portrait mode, but I can't say for sure (I never use the app in portrait).

I made some improvements in version 1.2.0.7 which should be available on the Play Store in the next hour or two. I'm not sure if they fix your issue specifically, but I really tried to improve the performance of the updating of any song list view (viewing an album and playlist are the most common). I also added an option to adjust the refresh interval of the list views, the default is 1 second but can now be set as low as every half second or as high as once every 5 seconds. Hopefully either one of these changes is an improvement for you.

If I go one level deeper by taping on an album, then click the play button, it works fine.

This should be resolved in 1.2.0.7.

First of all, thanks for developing Ultrasonic :) Secondly, I'm having the same issue as makkonen regarding offline playback. If I don't have an active data connection (which, coincidentally, my car is like a little Faraday cage and blocks all 3G connections), I can't select a new song. I can play songs that are currently in the playlist, but I can't select anything from my Media Library or else the buffering issue arises. I have to use another player to play songs offline, which is undesirable but the only solution. I'm not browing by ID3 tags, and I'm using 1.2.0.7. If you can fix this issue, the app would be perfect.

Not using the id3 tag browsing option. It looks like I'm running 1.2.0.7, and I'm pretty sure that it happened again today, so that doesn't... Well, that doesn't help at all. (edit: I mean that bug report doesn't provide any insight. Just in case I came off sounding rude.)

If you have access to older versions (in apk form?), I could try them to see if they're any better.

I am looking at numerous bugs and performance issues right now, I'll try to look into this problem this week.

Not a show stopper at all.

Yeah, I'm going to add some options so you can enable auto-scroll to currently playing and possibly some other options in that area. When I do that I will try to fix this particular problem.

And maybe something related to this is when I'm in playlist view and rotate, it goes to album art view. Would be nice if it stuck with what was up.

FYI after updating my Nexus 4 to Android 4.3, I'm still seeing 100% CPU usage on 1 core just by opening Ultrasonic.

Bug Reports for UltraSonic: AVRCP

Postby xelius » Fri Aug 02, 2013 5:27 am

Hi,

I've been using Ultrasonic for a while now. Everything runs fine as expected and I'm loving it. However there seems to be a minor bug in how Ultrasonic is handling AVRCP.
I compared it with the default "google music" player to be sure it was not a generic issue.
When playing music in my car, Ultrasonic seems to concatenate the artistname and tracktitle together, instead of transmitting them seperatly.
In other words, for the same mp3 file:
Ultrasonic:
Songtitle displayed in car= artist + songtitle
artist displayed in car= "unknown"

Googlemusic:
Songtitle displayed in car= songtitle
artist displayed in car= artist

Ultrasonic version 1.2.0.7
Android 4.3
Device LG Nexus 4

There is some issue with gapless playback I think which happens with audiobooks, where tracks are much longer than songs.

Current track is not played to the end, but instead next track kicks in. Sometimes end of previous track and following track play together for a few seconds.
Sometimes last seconds of 1st tracks are lost and next track starts instead.

Again that is visible only for long tracks eg. 25 min each and happens randomly.

I also have this 'buffering' issue. All the MP3's are stored in /sdcard1/music from other apps (such as subsonic) and follow the artist/album directory structure. I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7" running CM10.1.2. All other apps can play the music just fine. I'm not 100% sure where to find the error log or anything though...

Very nice version of subsonic app! Love the artist sort function! Only problem I'm having is it force closes when I try to open my videos

I just downloaded this app yesterday and it seems great but I cant get any sound. It says the song is playing but there is no sound either directly through myphone or through my aux port on my car. I have checked all possible settings. Am I missing something?
