GENRE Problem

Postby foksaexploz » Wed Jan 29, 2014 10:59 am

Hello everyone,

Today i installed DSub that i used some time ago. I think i set up my server properly as the library shows up and i can play songs on my phone.
I have a problem whith the Genre tab though which shows "None found" and in the Shuffle tab, the only choice for Genre browsing i get is "Blank".
All my library is properly tagged in Genre field in my PC (IDV3V2 tags) and i recall it worked last time i used DSub (That's why i used this app over the Subsonic app), my Genres all showed up and could shuffle 20 songs by a genre of my choice few months back.
Has anyone encountered this problem already or did i do something wrong?

Thanks for your answers.

Those tabs only work with server version 4.9. Are you running that?

If so, try connecting to the demo server and then reconnecting to your server to see if they refresh.

Log into the web app and click About.

You change the server version by upgrading to a newer version.

I checked:

Version 4.9 (build 3853) – 23 janvier 2014
Serveur jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_51, Windows 7 (98,5 MB / 145,0 MB)

I tried the demo server and everything works fine, the Genres are listed but turning back to my server still "None found".
Any Ideas?

Try running a full media scan and see if that fixes it.

I have the same problem after upgrading by uninstalling old madsonic version and installing new server and set it up from scratch again.
Was there a fix for this?
