Why do you need to do that? The Subsonic database (with users etc) should be unaffected by the upgrade.

In my case I has a massive hard drive failure and lost all the accounts and login info

It really pays off, to have a NAS (look up NasLite - http://www.serverelements.com/ - any old computer will do) with a RAID 1 configuration (PCI RAID cards are very cheap on Ebay or equivalent websites). My collection is on a RAID 1, with a nightly sync to a third hard drive. Only theft, or a terrible fire will be fatal.
