Media Scanner Problem

I'm on Mac OS X 10.10 and I am having a problem with the media scanner. When I initially scan my music folder Subsonic picks everything up and my library looks great. But then, after the initial scan the scanner will not find anything new that I add to the folder. I have tried both the OS X package and the all platforms package and I am having the same problem with both. I have also tried older versions of Subsonic such as 4.9 and 4.8. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem on Windows 8.1 (and previously on 7). My guess is that it is a permissions problem, but it is a pain. Does anyone have any ideas?
