Subsonic app on Android not working

Hello,

The error I am getting using the Android app for Subsonic (the official one, not a third party app) is `A network error occurred. Retrying..`.
Using the webinterface, everything works, and after manually portforwarding port 4040 and verifying that the port is open and creating my own custom url (which responds succesfully), the app does not work when I try to connect to my server.
I have of course bought premium. I hope I am correct in assuming that the username and password needed are the ones used for your account in the web interface (the one you had to create yourself).
Help would be much appreciated.

Log in should be any user you have set up, or admin creds. Double check port 4040 with can you see me.org for your IP.

Canyouseeme.org says my port (4040) is open, and I have both the webplayer and the app logged on on the same user which has all the permissions :/. Connecting to the demo network does work.

It turns out that I cannot login via my custom url (the one created via the web interface) with phones or PC's while on the same network. For it to work I have to log in with my external IP followed by my port. Anything I'm missing as to why this occurs?

I've got the same problem. Can't connect when I'm on my home network with the official app or DSub. If I switch to 4G it works fine.

Often this a router setting issue...search your router manual for configuring 'loopback address' or similar.

Well I couldn't find anything wrong in my router settings with NAT loopback (there could be but it says it's enabled) but I managed to fix it in the DSub app by inputting the Local Network Address alongside the server address. Not sure if that's an option in the official app or not. I'm not certain what changed because I used to have no problem but I'm good now.
