Cannot get DLNA to work

Postby adj » Thu Aug 28, 2014 10:18 am

Most clients (Foobar, VLC (Win/Linux), Marantz) do not find the DLNA media server, Windows Explorer/Media Player was the only client able to find the server and browse its contents, it cannot play anything though.

How do I get the DLNA server to work?

Maybe its not your fault... I'll try that when i'm home. Did you upgrade to 5.0 beta 2?

Same issue here. BubbleUPNP on my phone does not find it either as well as the Teufel Raumfeld app.

I've had mixed results with DLNA. On Ipad (IOS 7.1.2) 3 using Neutron player it sees Subsonic music folder and playlists. Streams music fine but playlist folder is empty. With iPhone 5 (IOS 7.1.2) using Neutron player it doesn't find Subsonic at all. Using free app mconnect player with iphone 5 it finds the Subsonic music folder and playlists and streams music fine.

My Denon AVR X1000 can find the subsonic DLNA server but when i select a track to play i get a "Cannot play file" message everytime (from the android Denon interface, tried with mp3 and flac files, same error)
I'm sadly forced to use Plex for now....anything that i can try ? There are no visible DLNA options to try

I still have issues with DLNA in version 5.0. I have been able to play a file from a subsonic instance with a smaller library though, so apparently library size matters.

Denon Avr x2100w can see whole library dlna.
But when i try to play files: Cannot play file (serverfault)
No problem playing files from My popcorn dlna server.
What can be the problem?

I am encountering a similar issue trying to play DLNA files on my Onkyo TX-NR727 receiver. It can see the files but when I try and play anything it pops up a message "Cannot play". I am running subsonic 5.2.1 (build 4428). I am able to play files via DLNA on our old WD My Book World Edition NAS. I see the following in subsonic.log:

[2015-04-20 19:26:30,507] INFO FolderBasedContentDirectory - UPnP request - objectId: folder-56, browseFlag: BrowseDirectChildren, filter: upnp:searchClass,res,res@duration,res@size,res@protection,res@bitrate,res@sampleFrequency,res@nrAudioChannels,res@bitsPerSample,dc:creator,upnp:artist,upnp:album,upnp:genre,upnp:albumArtURI,upnp:albumArtURI@dlna:profileID,DoriginalTruckNumber, firstResult: 0, maxResults: 11
[2015-04-20 19:27:13,195] INFO FolderBasedContentDirectory - UPnP request - objectId: folder-56, browseFlag: BrowseDirectChildren, filter: upnp:searchClass,res,res@duration,res@size,res@protection,res@bitrate,res@sampleFrequency,res@nrAudioChannels,res@bitsPerSample,dc:creator,upnp:artist,upnp:album,upnp:genre,upnp:albumArtURI,upnp:albumArtURI@dlna:profileID,DoriginalTruckNumber, firstResult: 10, maxResults: 11

but nothing more than that. Is there any way to increase logging in subsonic?
