DLNA speakers ?

Postby emerson8 » Tue May 12, 2015 5:26 pm

First and foremost, long term user of the software which as always, works great !!!

But, just did an impulse buy today which left med #¤#¤)#)¤!"#¤!½"#!"#

HTC One user, bought the XW-SMA4-K which is supposed to be everything and then some. Including some HTC connect support !

In reality, the Pioneer so far plays what I've got on my local memory card in the phone, absolutely nothing else.
Using the subsonic app on the HTC - phone speaker only. No way to choose the Pioneer as a speaker or render.

Using upnp player ( other software ), I can actually browser subsonic through that app, but then, nothing's playable.

Feeling all newbie here... but anyone got a clue how to user Subsonic server / app or whatever with a wireless speaker, with DLNA support, as the player/render ?

Search market for Allstream app...its paid but sends both airplay and upnp/dlna to my Pioneers. Cheers!

well, joy didn't last to long unfortunately...back to chasing....

"ROOT access is required"...

Thanks anyway.. But,, now I know, that there's hope anyway.
Could be a feature for Subsonic client I think. The Upnp I'm using supports connecting from one server and then directing to another render,
that unfortunately doesn't seem to be the case with subsonic.......

Ah yes...sorry..I'll only ever use rooted phones/tablets, and forgot that might be a limitation. Its worth considering, as airplay allows for synced playback on multiple speakers, which is heavenly, and cheaper than Sonos. Cheers!
