Merge left panel with right panel

Postby amhairghin » Wed Apr 13, 2016 2:13 pm

The beta 6 UI is amazing, but I think that the left panel is unnnecsary and can be perfectly merged in right pannel.

It is under-utilized when you have indexes turned off (the new default setting), but many wanted the indexes back closer to the way it was in 5.x. With the indexes restored via an option in settings, there's very little room for the right-side contents (chat, currently playing), and in fact the 5 buttons on the left side are already 'crowding' the left-side as it is when the user has indexes on.

I think that the chat can be a "float notification window", and the "currently playing" can be perfetly in a subsection.

that really depends on the number of indexes you have for a folder. some people keep everything in a single top-level music folder, so their left-side menu is HUGE when they have indexes turned on. as such if seeing the indexes is what they want, then the now playing is either in the way at the top or buried so deep as to be useless at the bottom.
