Many thanks for getting back to me. The issue is remote access...I live in the UK and have set up Sonos to access Subsonic...I'm now in South Africa and I wanted to set up my SONOS here using my UK server. That is what was causing the problem with the music cutting out. It is working now but, to be honest, I'm not sure what fixed the proble....I set up a new music service and I also shut down the whole system and reconnected to my SONOS system, so either could have fixed the fault.
It's all playing fine now...albeit that there doesn't appear to be a search function available (even though I did check the relevant box when I set up the music service).
TYo be honest, I don't want to spend any more time on this now because I'm enjoying the weather too much to be indoors...it is serving me fine for the time being. Perhaps I'll do some further digging when I get home.
