I think I may have found 1 issue with the new beta that I never used to have. After adding new content I then look through it on Subsonic and if any new albums don't have artwork I use the artwork finder through subsonic to add it. That still works but what doesnt seem to work is the overwrite of existing pictures. If I see an incorrect artwork picture and go to overwrite it using the same process it no longer does so. Never used to have this problem prior. Thanks for all the help.

So far for what I need, the 6.1b2 upgrade is doing fine. My worry was that with such a large rescan, that some IDs might get lost, breaking SubFire Radio (I don't cache the names of things, just the IDs), but everything in my radio 'stations' is working fine.

Update. that was one of my servers, the Debian one. The other is Windows 7, and that one barfed, repeatedly having an error dialog writing "subsonic-agent.exe". I just skipped. Seems to be ok, so I'm guessing that particular exe (the service runner) hasn't needed to change.

I am just testing Beta 2 and I am impressed how fast scanning is now.
Anyway I would appreciate a feature to scan media-folders seperately, especially new added folders.

I was a little confused that after the first test-scan of my 1 entered music-folder no content showed up.
After adding another folder and finished a new scan only the content of new folder showd up.
I than had a look at the user-rights and noticed that the admin had not got rights for the first created folder. It seems that this does not happen automatically. The later created folders got the rights.

What I am very disappointed about is that in this new version the support for Lyrics is still inadequate.
It is an endless story with subsonic and the support for lyrics, because subsonic only looks for a server to show lyrics online.
So it is understandable that most of the lyrics but mainstream are not found and the access to the changing servers does not work after some time, because something changes and has to get fixed.
What we still miss is the support for the tag-field "UNSYNCEDLYRICS" (USLT), means:
1. Look at the tag-field first if lyrics are present
2. Additional look at a lyrics-server if nothing is in the tagfield.

This has been a feature-request for a long time and is implimented in the madsonic-fork since years:

+1 to scan folders separately.

Hello,

I've found a bug while using "Clean-up database" when using PostgreSQL as external db: it looks like it's trying to use the CHECKPOINT instruction somewhere, but that's not something that a normal db user can do (nor should do, see https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.2/sta ... point.html).

Also, can we please specify the password for the db in an environment variable instead of passing the full jdbc url on the command line? If it's on the command line, any user connected to the server can use ps to see the username and password for subsonic's db, which is obviously not very secure...

Subsonic encountered an internal error. You can report this error in the Subsonic Forum. Please include the information below.

Re: Subsonic 6.1.beta2 released

Postby levi » Wed Apr 26, 2017 10:49 pm

I'm finding that I'm having random playback problems, and it does not seem to be isolated to any specific file type. I have a playlist of film scores, consisting of MP3s and FLACs. Subsonic will play a few pieces, and then just stop.

I'm experiencing the same issue as Jags. Web player will freeze at the end of random songs and not forward to the next song in the list. This happens for album play and playlist play. I need to click the next song button to move it along.

Windows 8.1 Pro with local drives.

If I pause a song and leave it paused for an extended period and then try and resume play, the song does not resume. I have to start the song from the beginning. This doesn't happen for short pauses (a few seconds or minutes). So far I've only experienced this when paused for at least 5-10 minutes.

That's one of those "features" of the html5 audio tag, I think. SubFire has had that problem as well. Behind the scenes, there may be a "network disconnected from peer" message in the console.

I haven't yet tried this, but I think the fix (from a coding perspective, not the user's) is to clear the audio tag (make it play a file of a second of silence) then load the original file back in and seek to the old spot. Not easy to make it transparent to the user that's what is going on...

Could also be a "cache" expire if your using a browser to play back.

Is the cache expire set by Subsonic?

So I tested with DSub app on my Android TV device last night and I did not experience the pause issue. All songs in the play list played through without an issue. It must have something to do with the web player in Subsonic when in a browser. I've been using Chrome. I'll try it out with Firefox and IE.
