cant access from internet [SOLVED]

i have subsonic 3.8 standalone installed on debian and its running locally fine, but i cant access it through the internet. ive forwarded the port 8080, and when i point my browser at http://mydomain:8080 it doesnt load. i also have apache running on port 80, and thats forwarded through my router aswell and i can see web pages that i post so i know that the router is doing its job. i cant think what the problem is. if anyone has any help they could throw my way it would be greatly appreciated. also how do i change the default port from 8080 to something else? i cant find any option to change that in the settings.

i fixed it, silly linux firewall
