Rate individual songs

I really do not understand why this is still missing. To my mind it makes even more sense than album rating. Of course album rating is also useful, but I think eventually album rating is nothing else than the average track ratings from that album.
I really hope that track rating will be implemented soon (hopefully with an optional ID3 tag editing).

However, I just tried subsonic ( tried Ampache before) and I must say that I am really impressed. Everything seems to work smooth and very stable and even the Android app works already quite well.

I just stumbled onto Subsonic and have been loving the accessibility to my collection from work (so much so that it warranted a donation) but, i too, would love to be able to rate individual songs while I'm listening. I rely heavily on rating to keep track of everything and it would be great to use the time i'm listening at work to make adjustments.

yeah i would love to rank songs that people actually want to listen to on a album and it would be nice if the "play more random songs when end of playlist is reached" would only pick the high ranking songs. If theres more then one on a album then just random pick one of the high ranking songs. Would also be nice if it knew it has already play the song and wouldnt play it again for a period of time. I don't just throwing out ideas but 1+ this idea

I would like to see that too. I like the ideo of being able to rate individual song and a config option of subsonic then updating the tags (only if present of course).

a play counter with abylity to update tags would be a great addition too!
I think this request gets growing support? has been around for a while at least, lets see what becomes of this.

I use the rating of song to find again good song in my large music library.

Please store this and the playcount of a song in the database.

But be sure that it is an option for the admin to set for the users. Don't want all of my friends telling me which music I like or don't like!

How so? I would like anyone with an admin ability to set individual song ratings. I just wouldn't want users to have this ability.

I was wondering if anyone knew of am app that will take my song ratings / playlists from iTunes and put them in a music player / database that will allow Subsonic to use as playlists. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I also have alot rated song in my Winamp library. It would be awesome to get that info into subsonic.
But first subsonic need the function to rate song, then we can thing about migrating the db.
I think this should be a seperate thread.
