Sonos: Display of Compilations

Postby StephanG2312 » Sun Jul 05, 2020 2:01 pm

Dear all,

I'm new to Subsonic and currently testing it to stream my music to my Sonos system. Since the update to S2 I experience again a very slow appearance of all album covers as in earlier days (under S1 it worked pretty well over the last years) that's why I was looking for an alternative especially as Sonos doesn't developing the library any further.

Subsonic was setup successfully and I had already the chance to test it on my Sonos. I'm quite happy, the cover appearance is significantly faster than with Sonos and I'm also happy with the features available. The only thing I'm missing compared to the original Sonos library is the display of compilations. I'm used to browse via Genre and under Sonos there is an additional sub-category named "Compilations" which is not available in Subsonic.

So my question is if there is a way to make them appear separately (all are tagged as compilation)? Or do I have to rename all Compilations, e.g. by setting something in front of the album name like "Comp" or "*" or whatever? How do you guys handle that?

I used already the search function but didn't find a thread which answers my questions. My apologies if this topic was already discussed somewhere else.

Best regards from Germany
