I have managed, using soft-links or shortcuts to organize my folders so I can get the full index on the left but also links to open specific folders.
Now I need to somehow hijack the index process so it wont index things twice!
To explain more. If you have a folder structure like this on you hard disk:
- Code: Select all
--Share
--Music
--artist1
--artist2
And you set up "Music" in subsonic to be published then you see the list of artists on the left. Thats nice
If you set up "Share" as the published folder then you see only "Music" on the left. However if you open the "Music" link you see all your music and artwork in one go in the center. Or at least everything in that folder. This is really nice.
I want both
This can be useful if the library is divided into different sections on a folder level.
I have published the "Music" folder in subsonic and then also published another folder containing a soft-link (shortcut) to the "Music" folder. This way a link appears at the top of the list. The link is called "AA--Music". It comes at the top of the A list as I cant get anything to go above that yet.
However as you might Imagen everything gets indexed twice.
Perhaps there is a way to move the Indexing service and use a script that turns off the link or deletes it before calling the real Indexing service. Of course this script would re-enable the link after the indexing.
So where is the indexing script/service/tool, and can this all be achieved. ?
Thanks.
