Hi there Sindre!
I noticed that this version worked without X11 installed, so i had to test it!

Its working on my Mini-ITX (dual gbit LAN) running Ubuntu Hardy. (i've used the supplied packages with sun-java6-jre and lame)
Seems to be working great, will test it from work tomorrow :)

edit: btw, "allways use webplayer" is nice, but its missing the "detach player"-option you have when you select the webplayer manually.

Hi sindre

Thank you for continuing updating subsonic. I know your time is precious these days. I have been checking the new features in version 3.5 beta and here is some friendly feedback.

- When disabling the user from playing files, is there a need to see the bottom panel? Unless the user has the create/save play list permission, all that panel can do is load a saved play list.

Also, I think if a user can not play files, there should be no way to get to the "Settings" page. This is kind of a security issue. If I use the automatic login url you suggest, that user doesn't need to change the password or upload icons (since they will not see the icon).

***(BUG) If the limited user that can't play files creates a random play list, the music starts playing automatically.

- The avatar feature is cool. Would adding a small a small version of it in the “User” column of the status page be a good idea too? Are you storing the uploaded avatars in the DB?

- Merging same artists in the left panel is nice. I did have this problem, but removing the “all folders” category nullifies this (http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=897)

Many Thanks,

-kapz

Merging same Artists do not always work.

On my system I have several entries in different folders for the same artist. This is true for A-ha. Some subfolders is named A-ha and others named A-Ha.

Now when the artist names is merged it shows only A-Ha and only one album. In other folders I have several albums with A-ha, but they do not show.

However I can make them show if I select only the folder they exist inside. But in the "All" folder, only part of the albums is listed.

I will attempt to send you a email with login information to my subsonic installation in case you want to take a look on what I mean.

Thanks for your feedback kdid and kapz, and sorry for the late reply.

I'll look into the issues you've brought to my attention.

download not working

Hi

I have just upgraded from version 3.4 to 3.5 beta, but i have a problem with the new beta version regarding the downloads.

When i try to download something, and i have tried both entire albums and single songs, I only get a file with the correct filename and in mp3-format, but the filesize is only 160kb, and offcourse the song cant be played. It seems like the download only transfers the songtitle and fileformat (and maybe ID´tacks... i dont know about that), but not the contents of the file. Both from the player and directly from the filelist the result is the same.

The download pop-up-box states for exampel a filesiza of 14mb but when download completes after 1/2 a second the filesize is 160kb.

The download function worked perfect before the upgrade. Now i can only stream and not download. Is there anyone else having this problem?

The upload function is working fine btw.

Is it a bug or something I can fix myself somehow? If i cant fix it, i will have to go back to the previous version again :?

Hi Sindre

I have created an updated version of the Norwegian translations if you'd like to include it in the final release of 3.5 =)

I've added the new properties from the English 3.5.beta1 version and translated them.

You can download it here.

Thanks a million, jigsaw! That's really helpful :-)

I'll include it in the 3.5 release.

Cheers,
Sindre

I love the new features. I can't seem to save playlists anymore. Was that moved?

Edit: Oh, haha. This is a fresh install and I forgot to allow myself to create playlists. Oops
