Been up and running for a week or so now - thank you Sindre for an outstanding service! Well worth the 20 Euro Donation - in particular because I have a cr-48 and have been searching high and low for a way to stream my music collection to it. Now Subsonic is all I use on all of my devices - it is just that good.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Sindre,

Thanks for your great work!! This is exactly the server - app combination i have been looking for.

Works like a charm and (this is what I most appreciate) very low use of system resources on my 2008 R2 box...

Keep up the good work!

I've been a long time user of Subsonic. I cannot live without it. Sindre has always been nice and open to ideas posted on the forum. Thanks for the time and effort from one coder to another. Subsonic is a fine piece of software.

Subsoinc Pro's
    * Music available anywhere with internet.
    * All your music is with you, not just what can fit on the memory of your ipod.
    * Cheaper than an ipod.
    * Easy to share with friends.
    * I've used SS to quickly play an artist I'm talking about to someone.
    * I've also use SS to quickly get the rhythm of a song at a Karaoke bar.
    * Severs are easily backed up.
    * Only carry and charge one device (phone).

I think Subsonic is my most used piece of "recreational" software ever. Great job and keep up the excellent work!

Very happy to have finally "gotten" Subsonic.

As a Mac user, iTunes was okay, but couldn't handle FLAC without a major hassle. Songbird could handle FLAC, but just wasn't as polished as iTunes.

I discovered Subsonic when I searched for a FLAC-capable player in the Android Market. Didn't use it at first because I was just looking for a FLAC player. Now that I have attained enlightenment :D , I see that Subsonic is awesome.

Brilliant to have it transcode FLAC-to-MP3 on the fly and save the MP3 file to my Android phone so that any other music app can access it. Awesome to be able to access my music library when I'm away from my computer and let others do the same. The tagging is not as convenient as other media managers, but at least I know I won't break my database if I tag the music files outside the media manager. You do have to put some work in to get set up, but it is absolutely worth it in the end. Subsonic is a fantastic piece of work.

Very happy with Subsonic, and very happy with Sindre's work!

Many thanks.

Thank you one million times.

I used to get so enraged that it was seemingly impossible to stream my sizeable media catalog from my home to my mobile devices. It seemed that you either had to pay a third party for to host your files (or provide a useless gateway) or put all your music on your mobile device.

And then a wild Subsonic application appears.

Simply put: well done, and thanks again.

EDIT: donation made $29.xUSD

Thanks Sindre!
I'm pretty smug every time I walk into an Apple store and know I don't have to touch an ipod, itunes or that dread white cable.

THANK YOU!!!!!!

I just registered for the forum, explicitly for the purpose of posting in this thread.

Sindre, after using it for a few months, Subsonic has become far and away my favorite app. I have ~650GB of music, and since my main desktop lives in what is now my infant son's room, I no longer have time on my machine to laboriously update music on my iPhone, curate the material that I might want at work, etc. Knowing that it's all available, at all times, has literally changed my life (in a small way, admittedly, but still: CHANGED MY LIFE! How many developers can say that?!).

I am now a tireless (well, some friends would say tiresome) evangelist on the virtues of SS, and just wanted to let you know personally that I am deeply grateful for all of your hard work.

Onward and upward!

wanna say thanks as well.
subsonic was something I was looking for, when I bought my ipod. but that I'd find something so reliable and versatile, that could transcode every file I had, I never dreamed of. for me it is also my social hub, forget facebook. my friends are here and we are listening to music together.
so simple yet so effective, thanks man

Subsonic is really, really, fantastic. Multiple A/V streams while the system runs a ton of other services? Awesome. Vast incalculable merit to you Sindre.

I always wondered why someone couldn't come up with something like this. Brilliant. Now that I have found it, I intend to use the hell out of it. Seriously, thank you.
