What are valid values for maxBitRate in urls?

http://<my server>/rest/stream.view?p=<my password>&c=xbmc&maxBitRate=320&u=<my username>&f=json&v=1.4.0&id=2595
Is it always necessary to send "maxBitRate=320". What if I don't want to do any transcoding and stream lossless flacs?
What value should be entered for maxBitRate when streaming lossless or uncompressed audio?
