I am not entirely sure. I restored my phone to 8.0.2 and the app wasn't there but I also don't sync with iTunes. I mainly use it for backups, it did keep the app data though because once I downloaded it & reopened it everything was intact. Someone is going to have to test what happens if you sync things. Either way all you need is my IPA file, they are embedded with the certificates you need. If something ever happens you just upload it to the site I use and download it yourself. I'll post a Dropbox link soon.

When you fired up the iOS app, it would connect to their server and show you a perfect image of your iTunes library, playlists, etc... When you chose a song or a list, random play, etc, it would then send a command to the app running on your Mac or PC and it would stream the music to your iOS device. For me, it worked perfectly! Then, about a year after I had bought the app (I wish I could remember the name, but it doesn't matter) the company sent out an email to all users saying that they had been bought by Apple to work with their upcoming cloud tunes project and that their servers would be coming down in a few months.

Maybe Simplify Media?

There still is an app on the App Store with the same functionality called Audiotap (https://itunes.apple.com/se/app/audiota ... ?l=en&mt=8). It has been abandoned since iOS 6 but still works (except for a few GUI glitches). It also lacks support for offline caching (wich is a big deal). I prefer it over Subsonic, but since it was abandoned I switched over and now I kinde like Subsonic (the iSub GUI is awful though...).

Really hope Audiophone could evolve a bit faster, the app's interface is superior iSub's (very Apple like), but lacks way too many features and feels buggy.

ok - I give up. Audiophone has lots of promise with a great UI. Very slow to operate though. And no caching....

Kaptemplar, appreciate any help you can provide to get iSub back up and running and I've PM'ed you my UDID.

Will purchase any app you decided to publish (hopefully subsonic related!) :-)

I haven't gotten back to you because I left my iPad at work and won't be back til Monday. But I have a question for you. Since you need the UDID of the device, does that mean you would also need the UDID for EVERY device that a user wants iSub on? Or is it tied to an iTunes account? Thanks.

I'd just like to post a massive thank you to Kap for helping me install iSub on my iphone since iOS 8.
Thank you very much for your time, effort and generosity.
Here's hoping Kap will bring out his own subsonic app on iOS platform.
Cheers, Gazza

Every UDID. I am looking into TestFlight which is what Apple seems to be moving into for beta testing. That may not require UDIDs & it may be based on Apple IDs. I'll try that this weekend & get back to y'all (Yes I live in Texas :D)

I'll second this!
I use Subsonic with the MusicCabinet add-on and was really struggling with the other apps on offer. Kaptemplar was able help and I'd be more than glad to help out monetarily in the future with any projects etc.
Many thanks KapTemplar! :D

I'm giving up on waiting as well. Read this entire thread. Evidence seems to be mounting that the cards are stacked against this app. It's a shame, too, because it's by far the most useful thing I've found since Audiogalaxy to keep the tunes flowing. I'm beginning to get a bit obsessive about opening the app store and refreshing the Updates page to see if the approval has come through.

KapTemplar, I've sent you a PM with my UDID. Let's hope I can get another year's life out of this.

Kap,

It appears TestFlight only lets a user test an app for 30 days before it expires. Or, at least that's what I get out of the FAQ.

Why doesn't someone just contact the dev and work out how to transfer the submittal of the app and take over? Kap, you up for that? :)

After getting iSub to successfully run on my iPad 8.02, I thought I'd give it a try on my iPhone. When I hook the iPhone up to the Organizer app in xCode, it tells me the version of iOS on the phone is not supported by the version of the iOS SDK. Has anyone else seen this?

Haha yes I did this too for a while. I'm still doing it because iOS 8 broke several of my daily-usage apps.

Really? I'll give it a shot anyway & see how difficult it is compared to our current method.
