flickr4jazz wrote:I can't remember the name of the first one I used 4 or 5 years ago, but it only required a helper app to be installed on your Mac or PC and the app would read the iTunes library and save a copy of the library on their server. When you fired up the iOS app, it would connect to their server and show you a perfect image of your iTunes library, playlists, etc... When you chose a song or a list, random play, etc, it would then send a command to the app running on your Mac or PC and it would stream the music to your iOS device. For me, it worked perfectly! Then, about a year after I had bought the app (I wish I could remember the name, but it doesn't matter) the company sent out an email to all users saying that they had been bought by Apple to work with their upcoming cloud tunes project and that their servers would be coming down in a few months.

I am not entirely sure. I restored my phone to 8.0.2 and the app wasn't there but I also don't sync with iTunes. I mainly use it for backups, it did keep the app data though because once I downloaded it & reopened it everything was intact. Someone is going to have to test what happens if you sync things. Either way all you need is my IPA file, they are embedded with the certificates you need. If something ever happens you just upload it to the site I use and download it yourself. I'll post a Dropbox link soon.

I haven't gotten back to you because I left my iPad at work and won't be back til Monday. But I have a question for you. Since you need the UDID of the device, does that mean you would also need the UDID for EVERY device that a user wants iSub on? Or is it tied to an iTunes account? Thanks.
gazza341 wrote:I'd just like to post a massive thank you to Kap for helping me install iSub on my iphone since iOS 8.
Thank you very much for your time, effort and generosity.
Here's hoping Kap will bring out his own subsonic app on iOS platform.
Cheers, Gazza

Evidence seems to be mounting that the cards are stacked against this app. It's a shame, too, because it's by far the most useful thing I've found since Audiogalaxy to keep the tunes flowing. I'm beginning to get a bit obsessive about opening the app store and refreshing the Updates page to see if the approval has come through.
KapTemplar, I've sent you a PM with my UDID. Let's hope I can get another year's life out of this.

It appears TestFlight only lets a user test an app for 30 days before it expires. Or, at least that's what I get out of the FAQ.
