Get Error in Web Browser. Please Help!

Postby kid.wonderbread » Sat Apr 10, 2010 11:03 pm

When one of my users tries to access my subsonic site, he gets a pop up message that just simply says "error". Click OK and then he can't see any of my music. He has Windows 7 32bit. Tried Firefox and Win Explorer. Updated Java and Flash to most current version. Any help is appreciated.

Now I am getting this same error on my PC. I noticed Java updated itself the other day. Is there an issue with the update?

I get that occasionally. The only way I know to fix it is to restart my tomcat server. Then it goes away.

Sorry can't be of more help.

I am having the worst luck. I uninstalled Java and reinstalled. I don't get the error anymore, but now none of my music shows up. I have tried re-adding the music folder in subsonic, but nothing appears. What else can I try?

I have gotten that basic "error" popup, it seems to happen if I change or move an album before it updates the search directory, make sure you are pointing it to the correct directory, it is case sensitive so make sure you have Music not music (just an example) or whatever you folder actually is, then go to settings/search/update search index now
see if that takes care of it.

I made sure I have the music library set to the correct path and that it is typed in case sensitive. I tried running the search index, but my music still isn't showing up. Please help.

sorry, I can't help beyond what I suggested above, just seems if no music is showing up, it isn't scanning the correct folder which is why I mentioned checking that first. Hopefully someone else has some other suggestions.

Maybe throw a few albums in another folder and add the new folder to the scan, update the index and see if it finds that, if it does....don't shoot me.......triple check your file tree for the main folder just to be sure all spelling and case are correct.

Whew! I copied all my music to a new folder. Deleted the original folder then renamed the new one the same as the old. Did this on the same external drive and then subsonic picked up the music. Not sure what caused the problem. But thanks for the advice.

I get this same problem, but after dismissing the prompt I can browse and play my music just fine!

It's a minor inconvenience, but getting more annoying as time goes on. Is there any way I can help debug this?

Have you tried what Mr. bread did above?
