If you used this address but on a computer within your home network, then maybe your server is still not accessible from outside...

I'm having similar problems getting this up and running, but I'm wondering if it's a Win7 issue as I'm having trouble the actual Subsonic app. I can get the server running and load it using the localhost URL, but it never fully loads (the artist pane on the left never comes up), nor can I even recognize it from another IP address or my Android phone. It seems like the server runs briefly, then stops for no reason.

The Subsonic tray icon, meanwhile, tends to freeze and generally does not want to function. I don't know if it's just not meant for Win7 x64, or if it's conflicting with some other process. Help?

I can create a free host using the d-link ddns service and it ask for a host name where I just made one up, it gives me my current ip address and then there is a box that says new ip address and I don't know what to put there.

Once I figure that out, what should happen when I type in myhostname.dlinkddns.com into my browser?

Since this is essentially a router/ddns question unique to the d-link ddns service website, you should inquire about it on their forum. Not trying to be rude or condescending, but it will probably be faster for you...

Good idea. I'll give that a try.
