Cannot stream offline using Android?

Postby potatiking » Thu Apr 29, 2010 5:37 am

When I logon to my server using Android App 1.2 to my home server i can play all the files and even downloading them. The little "green asterix" is showing up when the song has been downloaded to cache.....
Now comes the problem:

I try to use the "offline Mode" instead and go to the album located in my phone and press one of the songs....the notificationfield say "Cannot download the track xxx" I´m only trying to play it from the phone.

What can be wrong?
I have an SE Xperia X10.

Edit:
The errormessage on Android-phone:
Illegal Charackter in query at index 91:null/rest/stream.view?u=null&p=enc:
null&v=1.1.1&c=android&id=/sdcard/subsonic/music/
........etc....

Edit 2:
I run Subsonic 4.0 Beta1

Edit 3:
The log on Subsonic Server says:
2010-04-29 03:33:59 PDT] WARN RESTRequestParameterProcessingFilter Username and password provided in URL params, but discarded. User already authenticated as android

Maybe it´s some kind of problem here.

Edit 4:
I think I have located the problem. All my collection of music has the [YEAR] in front of the album so it sort the albums by default. I tried to remove the [xxxx] and the song plays just fine both streaming and playing offline.

My last Edit:

I give up. This doesn´t help either. I will not use it on Android as I will go crazy about this. ;(

I have the same exact problem. Only when I try to use Offline mode. I don't think this problem was present before the beta Subsonic release. However I'm not exactly sure why it should matter what's on the server since it's in "offline" mode.
Also, it is effing ANNOYING. It constantly pops up the notification (on Droid) "Error Downloading..." and it *will not* shut up unless you kill the Subsonic process in Task Killer. Even if you do, and start Subsonic player up later, it continues to complain about the song. I have found it won't stop complaining until you go and play the song on Online mode.
PLEEEAASSEE fix.

I see. I guess this can happen if you switch to offline mode while a song is being streamed/downloaded.

I'll fix that in the next version. As a work-around you can clear the playlist like so:

o Start the Subsonic app
o Select Menu > Now playing
o If you get just a black screen, just click in the middle of the black (another bug...) and you get the list of songs in the playlist. Long-click on an item in the list and select "Remove all".

Sorry for the inconvenience!
