thanks for fixing the flash player issue on linux browsers. Haven't had a chance to get to 4.0 beta1 yet, but will soon :)

On a side note, have you found out what the problem was with VLC? and any idea how to fix it?

Cheers?
D.

I removed the option to differentiate between internal and public ports in UPnP port forwarding, as this was confusing for many non-techy users. So if you're using UPnP and/or a xxx.subsonic.org address, the internal and public ports must be the same.

Secondly, the default port on a Windows install is 80. On Linux, Mac, war and stand-alone install, the default port is 4040.

The .deb and .rpm installers will remember port overrides when upgrading, but all other installers will reset to default port.

Hope this was clarifying.

So how do you change the port then? I don't see the option anymore. I don't want to run it on port 80.

Thanks

Static on WMA files

Postby seanpkeown » Thu Apr 29, 2010 11:34 pm

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. I've been testing the new 4.0beta1 and have noticed that when i play wma files i get nothing but static. I couldn't figure out what was causing this so i blew my database away to see the the problem continued which it didn't. Until i set a max bitrate under the players and or the users tab then i start getting static again when playing wma files. A majority of my music is mp3 so it took a while for me to notice.

I also noticed that my android app started hanging after going to the 4.0. I'll post again once i figure out if it's a certain file type that this is happening on.

Just thought i would ask to see if anyone else is experiencing this.
And to also let Sindre know just incase he's looking for any issues.

Version = 4.0.beta1 (build 1471) – April 23, 2010
Server= jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_20, Windows 2003 (31.4 MB / 47.6 MB)

Thanks for this wonderful product Sindre

I updated my search index after installing the beta and noticed that three albums were removed from the library. The common factor seems to be that they all have "..." in their title somehow. Here's the log.

[29/04/10 20:43:08 CDT] DEBUG SearchService Logically deleting info for album d:\music\The Farrell Bros\...Go To Hell!. Not found on disk.
[29/04/10 20:43:08 CDT] DEBUG SearchService Logically deleting info for album d:\music\Rancid\...And Out Come The Wolves. Not found on disk.
[29/04/10 20:43:08 CDT] DEBUG SearchService Logically deleting info for album d:\music\...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead\The Century of Self. Not found on disk.

Weird, it works on all browser/OS combinations I have tested on. If possible, could you create a temporary test account for me on your Subsonic server so I can try to reproduce the error?

Thanks!

I've had no issues with chat on 4.0beta1. Running mostly on Chrome for Mac.

Thanks SpritHansi for creating a test account.

The chat doesn't show up in my browser either, but it works agains my server, so it's most likely a server-side or network-related problem.

Can you please do one thing: Write some chat messages while looking at c:/program files/subsonic/log/subsonic-service.log. Look for any errors or warnings.

Thanks,
