I have been trying for 2 weeks to get this up and running on my iphone. starting to get pissed. its supposed to be easy to get going, right?

How about some details on what you've done so far.
Can you access the web gui from your home network?
Can you stream music over your browser on your home network?
Did you forward whatever port subsonic is working on in your router?
Are you connecting to your external facing IP with your iphone?
